hello all,
sorry about being late with a sample listing,so here we go.
Compleat Games & Hobbies
326 North Tejon
Colorado Springs
Colorado,80903
719-473-1116
www.gamesandhobbies.com
this store carries 1000's of plastic models, slot cars& model rockets, full line of hobby supplies, paints,& tools, board game, fantasy figures & games.there is a area in the store to build models, play fantasy games and board games.the staff is knowledgeable & helpfully.
web site has a forum, calendar of events, reviews, store times and directions.
i rate this store a 4 out of 5 stars.

i think this is the way to post the stores, with a zero to five star rating system, but that is up to the staff if there will be a rating system.i do not know if the times the stores are open should be included.that is also up to the staff.
so,what do you think about the sample, any and all suggestions are welcome.
cheers,
Bruce

Hi Bruce.
I beleive there ~30,000 registered members on the kitmaker network. It could be a good idea to use this resource, and posta thread in the different sections to get as much input as possible from these members, using your own suggestion above as a templete for information needed.

I wonder how useful the rating system is. 4 out of 5 stars for what?
Using your example .... it may be great for fantasy .. but worthless for those into aircraft or armor. Would they agree with the 4/5 rating? Maybe an explanation of what they offer and what they don´t, will suffice. I think most will make up their own minds on how they rate it, but getting the contact details and address, will be the goal for most! Just my tupence!!

I totally agree with Frank - most people (myself included) will simply want an address & telephone number with some (very) brief comments on what they carry. It's a good idea but it would create a lot more work

hello Frank,
i just threw in the rating system to see if anyone would notice.for complete hobbies i gave it a 4 out of 5 because the hobby paints area is weak, not enough of the more specialized paint, just your run of the mill selection.
there does not need to be a rating system, because you will rate your favorite store higher then another store, which can cause hard feelings from other stores/site members.
so lets throw away the rating system, and just get the info about the stores only.
cheers,
Bruce

Hi Bruce. It was just some feedback ... and also some insight to some of the questions that came up previously on the IPMS Stockholm page. Could get a bit messy when ratings are included, as it comes down to the authors opinion, and may not be shared by everyone thats visited or knows the shop. IMO, save yourself the heartache ....
Since this has went up there, its proved to be very successful, as Swedes tend to travel a lot and like to know what hobby shops are in the town they are visiting. Even if it was to be rated low, its still worth visiting, to maybe pick up a bargin, something not available at home, something rare, inspiration, something different, etc. Its also reduces the same boring questions of "are there any hobby shops in Prague or Rome, or Paris, etc."
Thanks for volunteering .... its a big job. Hopefully you get the support now, from as many members as possible.
