You won't hear a bit of criticism out of me.....That is simply awesome. Your lights and reflectors look excellent.

I have a couple of questions:

1. Were both kits built out-of-box or did you add aftermarket details.

2. You mentioned Itelari at the top of your post....What of itelari was used in your build?

I'm jealous really. The MAZ is one of my "to do" kits and I can't wait to do it. However, I have many more projects before it to finish.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

hi brent, thanks for the nice words. on the first couple of shots i've used the italeri T-55 to see how things will look like if there's a tank resting on the longbed. then made a switched later on for the tamiya T-55..both T-55s were made earlier and shelved them till now. picked up some parts from the spare box like..blinkers,spot lights and other stuffs..PE parts were included in the box only missing are cables, chains and 'umbilical cords' common on tractors and trailer. trumpeter's early tank transporter has wide varieties of ropes, cables and chains..they even had turnbuckles on them. i've made some enhancement on the fire extinguishers..the handles and nozzles tube were thick so i replaced them with new ones made of streched sprue. over all..the trumpeter MAZ-537 is a very nice project..though it run short on interior and dashboard. they could have thrown in an engine to compliment the massive bonnet and chassis of the tractor. the T-55s are OOB..italeri's has nice tracks while tamiya..over all..tops. next step is to add some more detail and weathering. thanks for the nice words and thanks everyone for viewing. comments and suggestions are welcome. have fun modelling.

Excellent work, nicely done.

Remember, in real life, the T55 would have been up loaded with the gun to the rear.
Difficult to pose I know with the fixed elevation on the kit and the fuel drums in place, but cut the tabs off the turret ring and you can do it!

Just remember you have done so, could be a problem should you turn it (T55) over at a later date.

Keith.

That's a lot of truck! Very nicely done.
Check the ditching beam on the tank...Is there a mold line in the middle? The lighting seems to catch a slight shadow. If it's there, that should be a quick fix.
Other than than, looks reallly impressive.

Fantastic build! I love those HETS! The MAZ just has that throw-back old school brute look to it. I really like the undestated weathering/wear you applied so your detail work is still highly visible while it still looks super realistic.

I can't wait to get mine. It should be here later this week or early next week I hope. The build date will still be a bit away, but I'm hoping by then a corrected tire kit, an interior detail set, and engine kit will be available!

That is amazing. I hope mine comes out half as great as yours. Was trying to find something to put on mine. But now I might put a tank on it.Or thinking about a BMP-2.

Happy Modeling

Looks great! I just finished Trumpeters Faun myself so I kind of understand all the work you have put into your MAZ. Your paintjob is just outstanding.

hi and thanks everyone. it's fun to build this project..the MAZ-537 is very interesting vehicle and the details superb..a step up on trumpeter's new line of kits. trumpeter could have add engine and interiors for the MAZ..but that's another story. tamiya's T-55 always be the best T-55 around. i have 2 more wating to be built. it would be nice to see more transport vehicles and heavy equipments on 1:35 scale. hopefully they will release some more. thanks again. ed

Hi Ed,

That is one outstanding MAZ-537G

Awesome !

I just have received mine, and can only hope it will look half as good as yours !

Excellent weathering, very subtle shading. The way you have had the paint faded is stunning.

Your build really rocks !

Best regards,

Richard

Hey,

Great build. Was just wondering if you could share what colours did you use for the MAZ and the T-55? Did you follow what they suggested in the instructions sheet? Thanks.

hi chen, i've tried lots of paints or should we say combination of paints on the MAZ. most suitable are...tamiya's TS-70..olive drab (JGSDF), TS-28..olive drab 2 and AS-14 olive green (USAF)..different areas..different paint. this will give distinction on areas and shapes of the vehicle top, sides and lower areas. all paint spray can. then the final coat would be light..field grey (bottled). as for the T-55..plain olive drab..mixed with small amount of dark green mostly concentrated on the lower hull. and weathering your model..dry brush it with buff and desert yellow. subtle mud would be nice..not to heavy just enough to show some details. try it first on a test model..before applying it on your build. hope this helps..thanks..have fun modeling. ed

hi yixiang, actually i'm emptying my leftover spray cans to clear my shelf and noticed it looks good on my build. then started neutralizing it with field grey just to give alittle uniformity on the whole kit. it works well and for the final touch..weathering and adding more details. the kit's color sample is the only reference i've got. thanks again and happy modelling. ed
