I've been working on this for about 2 months and the kit itself is complete OOB
First time I ever used MIG powders: it adds a nice touch!
Now all I have to do is smother it with kit bags, rucks, jerry-cans, tarps, ration boxes and anything else I can find.... I actually started canabilising some of my older models for "accessories" last night plus spent ages making paper MRE boxes from a sheet I got years ago and never bothered with.

Will post more pics in a few days. Is it possible to "over do" the kit out?

Looks pretty good. I like the weathering powders for a well used, in the field look. Make sure you weather the gear as much as well.
Yes it is. Usually there are only 4-5 guys in this version. Each will usually have no more than 1 rucksack and 2 duffle bags at most. You could maybe add a net and pole bag or two, and a couple oddment bags. A few cases of MREs as well.
Also, on the MREs. If they are the older, flatter box (as they sound since you have had them a while), they are incorrect and haven't been used since the mid-late '90s. The newer box is more square and can be found in the new Tamiya US Equipment set.
Lastly, if you plan on putting it in a dio setting or with figures, don't put it in an Iraqi dio. All Strykers in Iraq (yes every single one, no exceptions) have the slat armor applied to it. Any Stryker without slat armor is in a training environment and not in Iraq.
Keep us posted.

Nicely done... The weathering looks well done, how do you use MIG pigments?

I used them dry with an old make-up brush (don't tell my wife, she doesn't know where it went!) and just brush it into all the nooks and crannies. On some of the larger flat areas i rubbed it in with my finger, then brushed over it again. Then just lightly blow the excess away.

Complete at last!
Trying to decide what's next:
Tamiya JGSDF LAV
Trumpeter LAV C2
1/32 F117
PL 1/350 Enterprise
AMT Star Destroyer
Another AFV Club Stryker M1130
That's the full extent of my "stash"!
As I got this other M1130 by accident ( http://www.starshipmodeler.net/talk/viewtopic.php?p=908478&highlight=#908478 ) I'm tempted to do it as a version that does not esist. I already have the basic version and now the command version. There is a Recon version and a MGS due out soon from Trumpeter & AFV Club respectivly. The Engineer & NBC versions would require too much very detailed scratch-building (too much effort!) and the Medic version needs nearly a complete rebuild of the body. That leaves the Fire Control & Anti-tank versions as possibilities, or do my own Air-defence version. I'm surprised there is no dedicated AAA Stryker.
So what would it need:
low profile turret
multi-barrel cannon
stingers
AMRAAM
radar & optical sights
That seems do-able!

As with your M1114, the rucksacks, duffel bags, and gear are incorrect colors as well. Other than that, it looks pretty good from what I can see in the pics.

Thanks Arty. Following your comments on the M1114 thread I've stripped all the gear off about a dozen models and spent the weekend re-painting a ton of rucksacks, bed-rolls, tarps etc plus about 4 hours watching "Over There" just for research!
Cheers,
Sean

Yeah, it's the origonal, but don't worry about missing the drill: it's useless. It broke very quickly. I then bought a set of micro-drill-bits for my dremmel and broke loads of those too... Put the whole lot back in the box and left it. I'll probably built it eventually, but not lit up.

Sorry, it's only a phone camera. Every time I think of spending money on a decent digital camera, I find other kits to buy instead.....
One day I'll borrow a decent camera and take detail shots of the whole collection:
