I grabbed one (DML M26A1) from Tower Hobbies when they sent me a $10 coupon. Very nice kit that I hope to get to someday. Of course, I was always looking for the T26E3 version, but passed on them when they were on the shelves for $30ish.

I just got my E3 yesterday in the mail from Hong Kong for a little under 40. I have paid for my errors by not getting it when it was readily available ...

A Pershing? Nice score...I'm after one of those myself, if reasonably priced. I too had thought about the Persherman conversion. If you have Hunnicutt's book, then you have a line drawing of what it would look like--the turret rings were the same, so it would drop right in. I look at that thing and wonder why we didn't do it, and also note how much the thing looks like the Israeli M51 Isherman. Now then...what if we HAD built a couple of hundred Pershermans? No doubt the Israelis would have laid hands on them somehow, and something tells me a 120mm gun would have found its way on there... Now there's a fantasy tank project, Israeli M52 Persherman with 120mm Rheinmetall smoothbore....
