I can't recall on what forum I have asked this before,so I will try again.
I'm quite an experienced modeler, but one technique that eludes me is how to get the small the small ball at the tip of modern antennas.

Use white glue. Easy as that. Take some with the tip of a cocktail stick and just place it on top. It may require repeating as the glue shrinks a bit when it's dried. Just shape it like a small ball and there you go.

Mario's got the right idea but I use a slight variation. Before you glue the antenna on to the model, dip the top end wihere you want the ball into a small puddle of white glue. This really helps the ball 'form'. If you hang it upside down to dry, you'll find a perfect ball shape.

I prefer using 0.020 plastic rod for my antennas. To make the ball end, I hold it close to a lighter flame and let it ball up from the heat. It works for me.
