Gents,
Where can I get this kit? I am new to this site and to armor. I normally build ships and aircraft, but wish to do something new. I am in the Canadian Navy with 27 years service, currently serving in Victoria BC at Canadian Fleet Pacific Operations as the Sonar Chief Petty Officer.
TIA

Hi Brad,
I'm assuming you want the Afghanistan Leopard 2A6M with the slat armour? The slat armour set is made by Eduard, it is photo-etch brass. There are other bits you will need to add such as the front upper glacis armour, belly armour, antenna mounts, etc particular to the Canadian 2A6M's in Afghanistan. There is a German 2A6M conversion out there - belly armour and some other stuff, just can't recall who does it right now
Edit - ahh, I see on Rick's thread you have the Eduard set. Pretty much have to scratchbuild the rest (so far)
Cheers,
Jim

To echo and add to what Jim and Lawrence have posted.....there actually is no full Canadian Leopard 2A6M conversion to be purchased.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Armour modelling.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Armour modelling.
There is one on the way actually
I will show some pics of it later this week.
It will include correct bottom armor and front glacis armor, both antenna mounts, rifle box and 2 electronic boxes, correct smoke launcher shelfs.
Stay tuned

The goal is to do it ASAP. I put all the rest of my stuff on hold for now.
Shouldn't be to long before it is released.
Don't wanna promice any particular date

but most likely before the end of September

Thanks Andy,
Are you self marketing the conversion or going through an aftermarket producer?

This is great news as I am in the process of gathering what I need to turn a Tamiya Leopard 2A6 into a Canadian Leopard in Afghanistan. I look forward to hearing the details as to the availability of this conversion set.

As I promised here are some "in progress" pics of turret boxes and belly armor that I am working on. These are pre-production resin pieces.
The rest of the masters are already done and are currently at ABM for casting.

There are other 3 parts that go on the belly not shown in the pic. They will be optional parts cuz there are pics of canadian leopards with andwithout them.

Hey Andy,
Looking really nice!
What is the contents of this set?
How much is it gonna cost?
cheers from the sandbox
One of the serious problems in planning against Canadian doctrine is that the Canadians do not read their manuals, nor do they feel any obligations to follow their doctrine.

Rick,
a few posts above...
"It will include correct bottom armor and front glacis armor, both antenna mounts, rifle box and 2 electronic boxes, correct smoke launcher shelfs".
The price will be in a 35-40 CAD range depending on my packaging expenses. I will confirm that when the set is ready
