Hi all, this is an old figure of mine that I just finished up. Its a old tamiya figure with a Dragon head. All comments and criticisms are welcome. I don't care if your critical. It was the last figure I painted with Tamiya acrylics. Now I got the Vallejos ! Thanks for looking,
David

You did a pretty good job I think. I am trying my luck with some U.S. infantry and it takes a lot of practice as I do a hell of a lot better with German figs. Haven't tried any camo. uniforms yet but practice as they say makes , if not perfect, better every time so keep up the good work mate Bob

Gday David. All I can say is to steer clear of these aged Tamiya figures, as the detail is so soft, and the accuracy and proportion ain't super either... You ideally need some good reference drawings or photos to get a rough idea of the colours used too. The seam lines can be carefully removed with a sharp blade.
These things are to be considered and applied before the Vallejo is used mate, and the results will improve out of sight I reckon!
Cheers

Ha, I am just finishing up this old guy as well, I replaced the head with a resin one and the hand with a dragon spare. I may just chop the boots off as well due to the scale and soft mouldings. Figs like this are harder to paint than good modern ones due to the crummy detail and poor definition of lines . BE sure to spend some extra time removing the mould lines with a sharp blade and small file. Figure painting is an art, there are many references around for technique so read up all you can and practice practice practice. As an aside Oils and oil washes can really make a figure shine if you have the patience and are willing to try. Good luck.
