Rumor about their modern Russian tankers set is now confirmed on manufacturer's Future Releases page.

I don't know about Zvezda's modern kits, but I had few kits showing WWII figures and they were far under scale and quality of figures was a disaster...

Anyway - picture shown on site you've linked here is very interesting - we must hope that the kit will be exactly as nice as the drawing.

Yep, older Zvezda figures are an eye sore. I don't expect this set to be on par with DML's Gen2 figures, but the quality and detail level must be more then average since starting fall 2007 Zvezda's new-tool products are made on more or less up-to-date equipment using 3D software to develop masters instead of having someone sculpture actual one. I just hope they don't screw up the basics and don't do something foolish like weapons molded together with hands or bless rather feeble looking guy with size 17 boots. Anyway, it's better to have something instead of nothing (count out Tank set).

I just bought the Zvezda "Sturmpionere WWII" #3613 and Im pretty impressed with it. It is light years better than their old blobs-for-men kits. If the rest of their figures are like it,then I will definitely give them a shot.

LOL
George,in this kit they do mold the hands to the the machine pistol and some of the pioneer tools, but they are vastly improved over their old stuff. I would imagine that their other kits should be just as improved.

Never saw this set, but their Edelweiss mountain troops set has very good looking figures, though fast ropes and MG-34 ammo belts could use better detail. Hopefully, CO figure in tanker set will not have pre-molded bits of DML's NSVT mount in hands.

Some of their newer sets are quite okay and seems to be improving with every new set. I hope this will be the same quality.

Thanks for the update, George
