hi there guys
im doin a small kursk dio with dragon's german officers kursk 1943
1 guy has a camo smock on and the other holding the mp40 has a camo helmet i was wondering.. what kind of camo was used then and what colours would i need? i only use tamiya but cant afford to buy anymre paints atm as strapped for cash and i get told off if i do ha...
hopefully you can understand what ive just said

I just made a dio. featured in Russia in 1943. Here is an easy and cool camo-
Base- Tamiya Nato Brown
Dots- Black, Wood or Light Tan, Dark Green.

There are plenty of Camouflage painting tutorials on Historicus Forma.
I wouldn't get caught up too much on exact colours, Cloth fades, gets dirty, becomes weathered, plus there differences in colour between different batches of cloth.

It all depends on whether the figure represents Army (das Heer) or Waffen SS.
If Army, then Splinter pattern will be your best bet.

If you can find a copy of III Panzer Corps at Kursk you will be able to see b/w photo's of different types of camo uniforms. One picture on page 16 shows an officer wearing " a localy made jacket cut from SS camouflage canvas with the Herr chest eagle sewn onto the breast to avoid possible confusion"
