Hello Everyone,
As I am set to begin, I have noticed that the vinyl tracks are splitting, is there an acceptable aftermarket alternative? I have read that the Type 83 chassis is a copy of the 2S3 russian chassis. Is there 2S3 tracks available? the nearest I can find is 2S1/MT-LB tracks. Would these work? If anyone can help steer me in the right direction or offer suggestions as to acceptable tracks I would be very greatful.
Thanks to everyone in advance!,
Walter
P.S. It is the Trumpeter kit, if that helps.

The Type 83 isn't an exact copy of the Russian 2S3, but pretty close. The 2S1/MTLB tracks will not fit it, they are too narrow and a totally different chassis. I don't know of any AM tracks for it either. Additionally, the tracks don't look like any Russian or other tracks that I can identify. Sorry, you may be out of luck.
How are they splitting? Maybe you can repair them with string and a needle, or staples.

Hello Gino,
Thanks for the info. They are starting to split when the two ends join, being one piece vinyls. Just wish I could find some aftermarket ones, I just think the kit would really benefit from some indy links. The vinyls are nice but... Thanks again for the help. I appreciate it.
Best,
Walter
