Hi Guys,
These are the two old Tamiya Universal Carriers I decided to re-work. Both kits were 10 or more years old.
The first represents a vehicle from 5th battalion Coldstream Guards, It's pretty much done although I'll probably add a .30 cal MG when I find them lol, lol.
The second vehicle represents a carrier from the Independent Mortar and Machine Gun Company (1st Company Northumberland Fusiliers) I was thinking a Pl HQ vehicle, command and control.
This one has only had a light coat of dust as I haven't decided on the final setting yet.
Both:
Again crew in or out is undecided as it depends on the final setting

Very nice carriers. Nice detail work, the dusting on the first carrier is top notch.
You did a terrific job on the tracks, those are a real pain. Keep us posted if you add groundwork and figs.

Hi Al
Think that I've now been convinced to get the Resicast update kit next time I look at a Tamiya Universal
And your Coldstreamers seem to have been pinching bags from the Yanks...
All the best
David

Alan, Some really great details there.
Really like the cover on the second.
Only thing I could see is maybe a little large rope being used, very minor next to the great work.
Should be great in a dio setting, Congrats,
Bob

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the feedback. The rope on the tarp is actually flat lead wire which was meant to represent webb straps holding the sides up! Didn't have any buckles and tried a thiner version first but that didn't look right. As they are superglued on I'm probably 'stuck' with them now .
Comments much appreciated.
Cheers

Ah, we all have our crosses to bear .
Nothing wrong with the Coldstream Gurads, but you know what they say lol, lol.
As a point of interest it was their paring up with the 2nd IG (Armd) that formed the first, be it Ad Hoc, Battle Group, something we take for granted now - Armour/Infantry. They happened to be in the field next door when it was decided that tanks with out combined infantry support would not work in Normandy and so the Battle Group was born. Later after the break out and a bit of reorganisation 2nd and 3rd IG linked up to form the Irish Guards Battle Group of Arnheim fame. Well so says the History of the Irish Guards anyway!!.
Graham's new items for the carrier are excellent, the tracks are affordable and pretty easy to use and his additional items make a lot of difference to the stowage on the vehicles, well any vehicle really. I don't know if you saw the Deep Waders I did but the low slung bum effect is very good, and the new re-tooled panels excellent.
Cheers

Alan-- what brand and color did you apply to get the dust effect? Did you spray it or brush it on?
thanks
DJ

Hi DJ,
MIG Brick Dust, I brushed it on where I wanted it to go. Hope that helps.
