I am adding slings to the Mauser rifles on my half-track, and wondered if they are black or russet/brown? I suspect the former, based on photos, but it could be dark brown leather.

Black leather tends to weather slightly brown, so I would go for the dark brown option...

Is that a "yes" on black then?

Looking at slings on the 'Net, the ones around seem to be brown leather. But they are likely replicas.

collected guns for years and have alot of orginals. All of them are brown. Lite to a dark it does change alittle but always brown. Belts: black or brown. Holsters: Luger, P38 are normal black (only very rare brown ones) most other gun holsters are brown.

i have 2 vet bring back 98K's, one sling is an acorn brown color, the other is a buff color.
