I was thinking about building a 1/35 Dragon Wagon with some sort of German Tank, truck. armored car etc.Is there any good reference photos for this around.
Was it ever used to do that. During or after the war.I have never did a German model but was thinking about doing one and the Dragon Wagon is such a master peice it would bring out the German model allot.

Here is a nice picture of it carrying a panther. I don't think it would carry anything bigger than a panther, so don't make it with Tiger.

Tom, the WW II Dragon Wagon is a legendary vehicle, though offically rated at 40 tons, the truck/semi-trailer combination was often overloaded by their crews to carry enormous cargo loads. The link is to a memoir of a former Dragon Wagon driver, to give you an idea what he and his crew were tasked to haul. It could handle the King Tiger. After WW II, the Dragon Wagon combination was even used by the Atomic Energy Commission to haul components of the first hydrogen bomb, detonated during the Ivy Mike Shot. The entire apparatus weighed 82 tons, with the weapon coming in at 62 tons. The Dragon Wagon was used to handle the oversized and super-heavy cryogenics used for this detonation.
Probably more than you wanted to know...

Interesting that you posted the Dragon Wagon was often used well beyond its rated capacity. Some time ago, I inquired about how a Tiger tank would have been transported, particularly one that had been captured. During that post, I did not obtain photos of a Tiger hauled by the Dragon Wagon, but was pointed to a website with photos of a captured Tiger transported on a VERY overloaded two-axle trailer towed by a 5ton truck (or the like). It did move it, but I figure it was more the exception on the M26/M15 the better choice (to overload).
