Hello Fellow Nam Nuts!

Any news on the rumored release of a brand new M-42 Duster, potentially from Skybow or AFV Club...? Man, was I jazzed when I heard that this might actually happen --- but it seems to have dropped off the radar...arg!!

Maybe it was just scuttlebut...but for that brief moment I WAS ALIVE!!!

Much as I enjoy modelling WW II, the Vietnam-era releases have become so few and far between as to be painful... It's kind of frustrating to see the more popular and hobby-profitable Second World War getting all the attention (and kits, figures, accessories, etc.). Heck, at least they're still manufacturing model kits!!

Last but not least, my buddy in England said that there is a photo of my Tamiya PBR ('03 Tamiya Con winner for Best Boat or Ship 1/35th or 1/72nd scale) in the new issue of the Tamiya Modelling Magazine --- woo-hoo! As corny as it sounds, ever since I was a kid I always wanted to have a photo of my work published in a major modelling mag!

Anyway, please let me know if there is any new Duster or any other Vietnam-related kits on the horizon... Man it would be AWESOME if Tamiya made a 1/32nd scale Skyraider or 1/35th scale PACV hovercraft... Ah, to dream!

Much Aloha,

Johnny B

Havoc - the Duster didn't drop below the radar, per se, it just got swept under more news. It appears true that AFV Club is now in possession of the molds from Skybow's current releases. One optimistic viewpoint cites a good thing for Skybow - as it provides them opportunity to undertake more modeling efforts with the cash flow, as well as keeping their fine efforts of the past likely in production, albeit with the AFV Club label.

The Duster was in far along in development, so it's probably going to see the light of day. Question is: under who's label...
