Wow, that's great. Truely beautiful. The sight of young lovers always brings warmth to my heart :-) I could picture them looking out over a lake at some snowcaped moutains. Of course the bike makes me wanna go offroading on those mountains Great job!

HOLY COW!! That is really good work Marty. The detail on the picinic basket with the cheese, grapes, bread etc, really bring the scene to life. And your woman.....yummy, she looks good even in 1/35 scale.
Do you know if we are still supposed to e-mail our pics and cost breakdown to KF??

Marty
That`s a splendid dio you have made there and what a scene. Two lovers along the waterside of a nice lake. yup you have done honour to nature as everything looks very good. You have already a winner in your hands.
As already said the detail of the picnic basket is superb I like the half cut cheese and the grapes are very good too. And the girl........ Man............ If I was 1:35 I would fall in love with her and if she was 1:1 I would do the same. The figures what manufacturer are they???.
Great job I also like the detail of the Leaves at the bottom of the water and the stone that is clearly visible.
Congratulations dude

Marty, I just love it!!! first of all because it's a very unusul subject, then for the "reality" of the scene itself. The water looks outstanding and I share with Parick the curiosity about the way you made it. The food is very nice too; is it scratcbuilt? The only one weak point I can notice is in the face of the girl that in my view is a bit "flat" but the pics can often be tricky.
Bravo!!!

Thanks for all your comments. I loved making this dio as it was different. I wanted to capture a few pieceful moments for a couple of lovers before the officer heads back to the front. To make the water I used Castin'craft's Clear Casting Resin. This stuff is great. Now I just need to zip up my pictures and send them off to KF. I havent completed the price breakdown yet but I think I will come in around $25 - $28.
Fabio, the girl is a redhead so her complexion is quite fair. I must have taken her picture 10 times and each time she came out a bit washed out. Her face is by no means flat
Keenan, these are SOL figures. They normally go for $30. I was lucky to get them for $15 at a local model show.

Hey Warlord, I used Vallejo acrylic paints to paint both the girl and the officer. For the uniform I mixed German Field Gray WWII #820 with German Gray #995 in a 3 to 1 ratio.

Funny thing about the girl is that my wife said she really didn't like her and she was ugly. Hmm...if I didn't know any better I would think she was jealous. #:-)
