Hi everybody,
I am pleased to introduce my next beast! Itīs the Trumpeterīs LAV Command & Control version with 8X8 wheels from Blast, some PE parts and some scrach parts so that the kit at least a little bit represent current LAV-C2 version.
Other pictures of the construction process will follow...
Regards
Jiri

Looks great. You did a great job on the exhaust and added pieces. Did you happen to make a mold of the SLEP exhaust? If so, I would be interested in a couple. Let me know. The resin wheels look good too. Are they a vast improvement over the Trump wide tires? I was thinking about picking up the Trump tire set for a standard LAV 25.

Very nice build....the aftermarket and scratchbuilt details really add to the project.
I would also be very interested in a copy of the SLEP exhaust if you are able to make a mould and cast some.

Hi guys,
just a short update. The kit has been now airbrushed with Model Master enamels and is waiting for wash, drybrush and some weathering...

it was Matt Black, Red-brown and B-52 light green ...all of them mixed with white and with even more white for the inner fields.

Hi Jiri,
your model is turning really good. I like the basic paint coat, it gives a realistic look to it. Did you airbrush it freehand or with a kind of masking ?

Dear Anthony,
thanks for your comment. Actually I started the construction before the Eduardīs PE for LAV-C2 was available so I used LAV-R set and added some parts from spare box.
The SLEP exhaust is scratchbuilt.
At the moment most of the paint job has been done and I am working on the clutter. As I really want to make it heavily loaded it will take some time to finish.
Regards

Any chance you made a mold of the SLEP exhaust before installing it? If yes, I would like to buy/trade for one. It looks great. Let me know.

I think Miroslav H mentioned above that the SLEP was coming out as a PE part in an Eduard set.

Saw that. I would prefer a resin version though.

Dear Oliver,
thanks for your nice comment. I plan the vehicle to be heavily dusted so it will not be seen anyway (usualy it is like that )
I used masking made of pattafix gums and pieces of carton. I lightly sprayed over its edges which helped to avoid a sharp-edged camouflage.
Dear Gino,
you make me think of changing my occupation. When I am fed up with the tourism I will start in model business
Unfortunately I donīt have any copy. I had never made my own cast before and as I really wanted to continue with the kit I fixed the master to it. However, it was not a hard work to make the exhaust and I still have the drawings I made, so may be one day...
How shall I name my after market company...hmhmhm...???
Thanks again for your nice words about the kit.

Jiri

Hi,
I was just thinking to post an update of the construcion. The vehicle itself is now pretty much done and I have started with the luggage and equipment.
Unfortunately it goes very slow
PS: Enjoy the clean vehicle. Nextime itīs gonna be heavily dusted
Any comment highly welcome.
