Howdy. Finished with my first Hobbyboss kit and great it should be the M4.
Overall a great kit but I fell for the mistake in the instruction about the cabin against the lower hull. Tracks a little long but it doesn't show now.
Tried to avoid the kit decals, they for a postwar tractor.

Jan , you did a nice job. It's a really nice looking piece of armor. You have anything for it to tow? Thanks for sharing , Bob

The only things I've seen behind M4 HSTs are what they were designed to tow: M1 155mm Gun "long tom" (not a howitzer), the 8" Howitzer and the 90mm AA gun.
There's one picture of an M4 HST towing a captured German 8.8cm Flak 36 or Flak 37. That's about it.

Jan
the version you built is for the 155mm Long Tom or 8" towed howitzer. Both nice kits from AFV.
The AA artillery was towed by the "other" early version of the M4 which is the other Hobby Boss kit. The main difference is in the rear stowage compartment as one is laid out for artillery shells and has vented side panels and a crane. The other has no vents, no crane and is laid out for AA ammo. (Sorry Roy)
But with the exception of artillery people (like me) most people would not know. Then again, I don't know of a 90mm AA kit....soooo stick with the artillery!
With all that said, nice build

That was a different model HST in Kelly's Heroes. There is however a modified M4 in the back ground of a science fiction movie. I think the movie was Spawn, but not sure. there was a great scene of one pulling a yacht on a trailer in the movie Kelly's Heros
