I am finally finishing the MK tracks for this tank.
I painted them matt black as a base coat.
I don't know about the weathering, should it have a rusted or bare metal finish ?

John
If I remember correctly, that due to the composition of Russian tracks, they do not rust quickly or easily. Dirty, yes. I've got one of these getting finished out at my bench. It is an ugly beast.
Cheers

This link was listed elsewhere, and I thought it was helpful for my SU-152. How about some construction pics?

Zvezda kit. 1/35
Model Kasten tracks.
Some wires and a scratch searchlight from a t-54.
I finished the other set of tracks last week.
Still have to weather them and the tank too.

See, if you want to give some slack to the tracks. I think, it will make it look more menacing.. At least, I like it when tracks are not too tight. But I guess, it is an opinion of personal preferences.

Alex,
The MK box stated about 84 links per side, well i count them, put 84 links on one bag and the rest on another bag.
The side with the right number of tracks is too tight (the one on the pics), after that i started doing the other side... but well there weren't 84 links left ... ... about 96 ... so one side is tight the other loose.. i still had to take some links out..
