Posted earlier in wrong forum: I am looking to do the Stuart or the M40 (155mm SP Arty). I find these interesting subjects. How well do they go together? Not a rivit counter, just don't have a 1000 hours to spend on a kit. TIA.

No idea on the Stuart, I assume it is pretty nice though. Most AFV Club kits are.

The M40 is a great kit. It isn't too difficult to build and looks great when done. It has tracks for a WWII version, but also has decals for a Korean war version as well. For a Korean war howitzer, replace the tracks w/the AFV Club T80 tracks and you will be set. Here is a review of it from PMMS. I built it a while ago and loved it.

There is a build review of the M40 in Armorama's reviews database as well as in-box reviews of both the M3A3 and M5A1 Stuart kits.

The AFV Club Stuart is a very nicely done kit, and is an easy and relatively straightforward build with no major bugaboos. If you're interested in the subject matter, I would say go for it and enjoy!

The afv club M40 is a nice build .

great firing compartment and nicely detailed for a large AFV

As Gino mentioned the tracks are a must to be changed.

The rubber track does not seem to form around the drive sprocket or idler too well.
Suggest a must to use the AFV club individul track or fruil if you want to spend the $.

The barrel in the kit is not the right length as per the nemerous reviews people have indicated.
The other small problem is the decals .Be careful they do not disingrate when dropped into water.
