Hi

Doe anyone here know when this quasi new release is supposed to be available?
I see that some shops are taking pre-orders, and I wonder how long we'll have to wait!

Cheers

As Jimbrae correctly stated it's e re-release a re-release of the Italeri's old kit, that anyway is quite good despite of its age. You can obtain very nice results even OOB. In Italy is expected to re-appear between july and september.

Thanks for the release date. Between July and September sounds like Italeri's dates, and those tend to be inaccurate.

And the kit is NOT a straight rerelease of kit #244. The kit is the old M24 with correct tracks for WW2, a corrected front plate, and some other changes so we can make a WW2 variant out of the box (supposedly). It has a new number of 6431.

The amazing thing is that even though the kit has been announced, the old M24 are selling on eBay for upwards of US$30. Preorder prices for the kit are about US$17!!!

Why all the effort to produce a ww2 chaffee, a very limited number of possibilities I would have thought.... As for improvements, I've got the Steve Zaloga article on improving the kit which is probably about the last word on the subject (failing of course an AFV Club production).... Re-issues?

I think the effort is because more modellers work on WW2 armor than all other eras.

My interest in the Chaffee is only because it's a WW2 vehicle. I'd like to build one from early 1945, and I can't be bothered to pay a lot of the out of production kit when I know the corrected WW2 version is coming. For some reason, I completely lose interest in armor outside of 1939 - 1945!

Where was the corrected Chaffee article by Zaloga published?

Cheers
Andy

i think the corrected Chaffee article by MrZaloga was in a back issue of Military Modelling, but not sure of the exact date.....maybe someone else can help? but Zaloga, master of the US afv,we are not worthy of his skills
