I've been wanting to build a Stryker in Iraq ever since AFV Club came up with the kit. I've managed to gather the other PE kits that convert the basic kit to the armored version patrolling Iraqi streets including SLAT armor, blast shields & RHINO anti-IED system. With the announcement of this Campaign, I figured why not make it the best time to start?

I plan to build an M1126 Stryker ICV, as far as construction is concerned, I'll be shifting from the basic AFV kit & the PE parts. My personal challenge for the build is really with painting & weathering. Hope things work out great!

I started at the onset of July, but I only managed to post now:

These are the kits I will use, a couple are still on the way but you can tell just how much you have to purchase (unless your up to scratch-building the extras). One tip I have for anyone who plans to do the same, consider the Big ED option, you save a lot while still getting the parts you need. I got too jumpy in my shopping!

THE BUILD:

I went through Steps 1-5 following the instructions OOB building the running gear. I must say it was the smoothest assembly of a running gear I have ever experienced. Mostly everything fit together just fine. Mold lines & ejector holes are 'thoughtfully' placed for easy clean up or none at all as these were covered when assembled.

Well that's what's happening so far, more to come...
