Hi all
As I am new to all this military modelling malarky just wondering if you give me some good examples of german figure kits to start off with as I have just started to look at them.
And preferably could they be 1:35 =P
Cheers guys

For a beginner in plastic I would recommend some of the Masterbox kits. they are very buildable and build into nice little groups for dioramas or vignettes.

One of the reasons I recommend them over Dragon sets is that although Dragon give you lots of nice equipment it doesn't sit well on the figures whereas Masterbox make room for the equipment.

Hi Jake,
Any of the Dragon German figure sets would be a good start for decent figures. If you are new to the hobby, it may be best to leave their Gen 2 figures until later, as although they are excellent, almost as good as some resin figures in many cases, they do have a lot of parts in each figure. If you want to practise your painting skills on some cheap figures, before starting on the Dragon ones, you might consider one or two Tamiya sets, but be warned, many of these dies are up to 30 years old & the detail & general moulding are not up to modern standards. The recent Mini-Art & MasterBox sets are also excellent, & include some slightly "off beat" subjects. Masterbox in particular are good for the "ready-made diorama" subjects.

Tamiya´s older figures and anything produced by Italeri should be left where they are in the shop. The details are not there and makes painting harder. Some of the latest Tamiya releases are quite good though.
But you wont go wrong with most of the Dragon, Tristar, Miniart, Masterbox for nice figures and enough details to make painting fun. If you are unsure, check out what kits are available and ask here.

Hi Jake, youve got some good advice from the guys, steer clear of Tamyia figures( some do have good converstion potential) having said that Dragon,Masterbox,Miniart all produce decent stuff havent used any tristar figs but have heard good reports. If you go on Hannants website all the manufacturers are listed along with box art pictures of the various kits this may help you to make a choice.Good hunting!

Yes they are 1/35.
You've had some good advice, may I politely suggest you do a little bit of legwork yourself now, check out the makers web sites and a few suppliers web sites to see what the recommended makers have to offer that takes your fancy.
