Hi,
Apart from the Verlinden offerings, which may be closer to 1/32(?), is there any other company that makes Indochinese civilians?
Thank you,
P.N.

Hi,
there is a set from ADV - Azimut with one or two Vietcongs with normal cloth without equipment and only a weapon in his hands. Also one set from Jaguar with one LRRP and one female asia girl only in clothes siting on the ground. Then there is one set from Andrea Miniatures with an G.I. sitting on an tree trunk and one female asia girl next to him. In one of the Vietcong set from Dragon is also one female asia girl with a bike. From Verlinden there is an elephant with one or two zivilistīs.Itīs a great one because the animal is great done.i would take the asia head set from Hornet for the Figures. the Verlinden ones are terrible. And last but not least i know one box from Dougīs Original with on asia child on an Water Buffallo. i have this one and itīs great. The Detail on the Figure and the Water Buffallo ist amazing. I think there is a review or in an old news section here by armorama about this set. You could take an silikon mold from one of the Verlinden Vietcong set, so you could make so many you need without buying a lot of setīs for only one Figure. ( i mean the one with the old men sitting on the grondand the younger guy is pointing on something). I know itīs a difficult advise with the molds but itīs only an idea. Itīs for many a problem with Copyright and so on. I respect that and could understand this but my words are only an idea to help out.
Hope i could help,
Greetings
Stefan

The verlinden elephant is overscale. There are some plastic toys of animals and have perfects elephants in 1/35 scale. Right now I am in Seville and I have the elephants in Madrid. They have male, female and child elephant and they are perfect for 1/35. In fact verlindenīs seems a copy of one of this. Next sunday Iīll return to Madrid and will post some photos of them. They also have some african elephants. I will post the reference number of them.
Besides verlindenīs elephant doesnīt seems too proportionate. The head seems bigger than it should.
The child from the elephant set are perfect for vietnamese adults and not for children. I am using the torso of the children without clothes for my conversions. In Spain it is not illegal to make copies for private use.
Have a nice day,
Angel

Hey HoBo9,
According to their 2007 catalog, Dragon still made their set of 4 VietCong figures, #3304.
You get 3 men and 1 woman with the set, one of men is squatting, the woman/girl has a bicycle.
They're kitted out in a variety of "black pajamas", khakis and sandals but with bandoleers and backpacks.
They may not be easy to convert to "regular" civilian style dress.
Cheers

John,
Thank you for your reply. I have that set but was thinking of maybe getting a couple or more of these kits and try to repose them using some arms and legs from the spares box. Since this is kind of an "odd" subject, maybe this is the only way to go.
Waddaya think?
