Hi,
I'm looking for Soviet/Russian Tank Crew figures. I haven't modelled in 1/35th scale for a good 15 years and back then I didn't really care about detail, accuracy, etc, but now I do. I'm working on a multi-period diorama, so I need a range of WW2 1940-1945 figures to fill it. My question is what company makes the most detailed accurate figures that would fit my needs? These are the companies I have found that have Soviet/Russian Tank Crew figures:
Alpine Miniatures
Dragon
ICM
Master Box LTD
MIG Productions
MiniArt
Pegeso Platoon
Tamiya
Trumpeter
Tristar
Verlinden Productions
VLS Warriors
Zvezda
There might be a few others, but that is what I have found so far. Can anyone give me a pros & cons on any of these companies? Also if you have built Soviet/Russian figures from these companies and have pointers, that would be great. Thank you for any help.

The verlinden ones are very good. Also, MIG makes a few that are really nice as well.

Hi , I recently picked up 2 Warriors sets from Squadron, they may still be on sale, Worth checking out I think. Warriors # 35598 and # 35602, both are Russian Tankers loading ammo. If you can find it Verlinden #303 Russian Tank Crew were good figures, and #290 Russian Tank Officer , both are older sets. Good luck in your search..... milvehfan

Hi Harley,
IMHO, as far as plastic Soviet tank crew go, MiniArt and Master Box are the best.
Between the two companies, they make about 8 sets of various Soviet tank or SPG crew.
They're not of the same quality as resin figures but are a far cry from the older Zvezda/Italeri and Tamiya sets and at a MSRP of $14 to $15 (U.S. or Canadian $) for 4 figures, you can't beat them.
One resin figure will cost you about the same (or more) as four plastic figures.
You could replace the heads with some resin ones from the likes of Hornet or Ultracast but I don't think it's necessary.
Cheers
