yes.....Iv always loved the look of sandbags on armour and thought Id try an experiment...I used putty and scribed in the seam with my knife.......and the opening of the bag is flattened putty that I kinda made into small "flowers"...I made a whole bunch of them and fixed the ones I liked in place after the bags had hardened. I put saran wrap over the front of the tank and pressed the bags into place when wet...then allowed them to harden in place..I pulled the whole unit off after they cured.....painted black preshade coat...then sprayed a light coat of sand yellow......drybrushed sand yellow later...then d/b'd a coat of humbrol linen verrry lightly ..used thread soaked in crazy glue for the rope

Nice work! But I am wondering is this a Sturt? Does Sturt only stand for M5? I forget.
I think this is a M3

Hi Jim, that's a good looking Stuart you show us ! You added nice detail to the kit, I like the stowage and the sand bags too. Can you show us more pics of the muddy lower hull ? I believe you reached nice tones in it. G.

Looks very good, what company and place does it come from. PS. Did you forget to paint the lenses red as we all do from time to time?

The mud was a goulash of all things muddy I could think of......plaster.....powdered pigment....dirt from my basement...some oregano...white glue...rubbing alcohol.I even added some of my beard clippings to the mix to simulate grass mixed in the mud(dont think Ill do that again-too wierd)..applied with a remnant of a incence stick(being bamboo).after this dried sufficiently it recieved a rather HEAVY wash of dark brown and black oils...more paint than wash....my next armour project willbe either...
a) Sherman 76 mm WETT with crew and riders
b) BA-6 russian armoured car
c) German late war Steyr flack truck

I think most folks put a little bit of them selfs in every model they build.

But I don't believe they intend to make a self sacrifice out of it.
