Anyone know if this kit is worth it?

I am looking for something that builds up pretty well. If needs be I can do some conversion with heads and hands from Hornet. I have heard good and bad reviews for this company, so all I am asking is if this kit can cut it?

Hey Mike,
That is a very, very old set of figures and are best described as very crude.
Zvezda originally sold them as two seperate 4 figure sets and Italeri reboxed them a few years ago.
They will require a lot of work to improve them, replacing the heads will help.
The Maxim machine gun on the box art is from their recent Soviet Machineguns Crew set #3584.
Here's the kit on Zvezda's site that has a photo of the sprues:

If you want early war Soviet troops, 1941-42, you may be better to look at Master Box's figures:

Zvezda makes some of the best weapons on the market, their modern AK's are awesome and so are their WWII sniper rifles.

Hey Mike,
Zvezda's newer stuff is very good while some of their older sets are just awfull!!
I just picked up their German Sturmpioniere set and I have their Soviet Sniper Team, Soviet Machinegun Team and Soviet Tank Infantry sets in my stash.

Thanks for the replies guys!
John- Thanks for the info. I actually have the masterbox figures, but I was looking for something to add to them. I am building a dio of a soviet charge into some German infantry and tanks in the early stages of the war.
Chris- I will take that into consideration. I have been thinking about doing something that takes place during the Soviet-Afghan war or Chechnya.
Thanks again guys!
