I'm not Vietnam expert so I don't know if a T-54 is allowed in this campaign...
Some french armour or figure are allowed ? It was called the Indochine war, let's say a prelude to the vietnam war..

Maybe a figure... or a mig-15...

Hello
This is going to be my build for the Vietnam total War campaign.
I'm going to build this with some improvements as I go ,mostly will be scratchbuilt improvements. If I have time I will try & add some crew if I can find some figures that I can convert.

Have started my build of my Chaffee.
Shall be using it to represent a French Chaffee.
Have decded that I'm going to use a set of Edhuard Etch to improve on the old Italeri kit.

Hi
Keenan that's a nice looking build that you have there.
I've done some more work on mine over the weekend. Managed to get a lot of the etch fitted to the chassis. I've also scratchbuilt a new holder for the folding windshield for the driver.
I've added some more pic's to my photo bucket site. same link as prievious post.

Hello have managed to add the new jerry can holder with altered jerry can ( new handle & cap)also have made16 squared & 10 Curved handles out of Piano wire bent into shape. These have been glued in place today. The Towing bracket has had new brass bolt heads added. Had enough for today getting a bit cold in the shed now it's getting dark.
I've added a few more pic's to the photobucket site.

Hello
latest Update with the build. I've got most of the etch fitted now, can't finish the Turret yet as I'm waiting on a new Gun Barrel. Fitted most of the stowage straps ready for the kit & boxes etc to be added. The wire basket on the rear was an pain to make nearly changed it to the other style of just a metal plate.

Have added some more pic's on the photobucket site.

Hi
have been busy with the build , have nearly all the etch done now only have to do the headlight guards. have added some floor plating & the crew seats so that i can leave the hatches open in the turret & you can see past a crew man as they are rather large hatches.
making the stand for the .50 cal was a pig couldn't get it right nearly threw it in the bin, but finally got there. some of the etch is so small you can hardly notice it in place. just started to build the tracks( workable) single link , very nice detail on the links with very little clean up neaded. Also a set of very nice resin drive sprockets & idler wheels .

have added some more picks on photobucket. running out of space on here.

should get the tracks done this week will add pic's when done.

Shaun,
you're doing a great job on the Chaffee, I have 3 or these waiting to be done the plan is that they are all going to be tanks used at Dien Bien Phu. What PE set are you using and also where did you get the resin sprockets & idlers from?
Cheers
David

Hello David
Glad you like the build. I'm building mine as a French tank around the Dien Bein Phu period . I havn't decided on the exact paint scheme & markings yet.
The etch set I'm using is from Eduard costs about £6.00 It's the set that they make for the earlier Italeri Chaffee but as 95 % of the early & late Chaffee are the same I've used it. Very little left about 6 pieces. The Tracks come with the sprockets & drive wheels & they were from Hannants & were £13.00 they are listed on there as from Trumpeter but the box doe'nt say anything about Trumpeter. They have both the steel & rubber type tracks. Might order a set of the rubber tracks. I've still got 2 more to build but I shall be doing these as 1 US version & probably 1 as Taiwan or South Vietnamese. Look forward to seeing your build.

Hello
Have managed to finish my build of the Chaffee. Will hopefully get it primed some time this week. The single link tracks are great they realy look the part. They were very easy to build & the detail is very nice on them. A little time consuming but well worth the effort.

Hi
The original start of the campaign was on the Aeroscale part of the network. I think you'll find it's on there. I posted the other day on there to see if I can have an extension as I'm no where near finished.
