*Sigh*
I havent been visiting the site much often lately because of my disappointment in not receiving my UH-1D Huey model from GreatModels so I'll make this short and sweet.
Because of the failure of delievery of my model I am unable to put my entry into the voting for the Splash campaign.I had the base finished but because of no center piece its almost useless at the moment. This is the second campaign I have yet to comply with the deadline so for myself and others I will not participate in anymore until I am satisfied with my work.
That doesnt mean I wont go away from the best modelling web site ever made on the net.

Zach,
I am sorry to hear about that, but may I give a little bit of advice: I myself am not participating in any campaign for several reasons, but I still intend to do a winder dio following the winter campaign and also a Splash dio.
Build it and finish it whenever you want, these campaigns are not competition driven, but are al about having fun together on a mutual theme.
So do us all, and yourself, a favor, keep participating, even if you cannot complete within the deadline finish it and let us see your work.
Remember this is a hobby and you love to see others work, we want to see your work, that is the best way to learn and improve and feel appreciated for the hard work you have done.

Wow, I can't believe so many people are dropping out. What is going on? Anyway Zach, Ronny is right about the campaigns. I look at them as a way to motivate myself, that extra kick in a butt. I tend to have a lot of good ideas but more often than not I don't do anything about them. I did enjoy building my dio for the SPLASH campaign and if time permits I will participate in others as well.

Don't be hard on yourself - as Ronny said - its all about fun and enjoyment. As Marty said - the campaign is a way to give yourself 'kick'
So to everyone involve in Splash - If you entered and started a diorama you've participated and I hope you had fun. You are that much further on a project than you were before Splash.
Sorry to hear about the slow shipping on the kit. Makes it kinda hard to get 'psyched' into a project. I would love to see the completed diorama whenever its done.

Zach,
I told it before, and I will tell it again. Campaigns are no competition, they are a sort of group builds with a central theme. The purpose of it all is to have a good time together with the other members with it and the ability to try out and to share new techniques. I for one don't mind that the dio isn't finished at this stage....it's no game of who first finishes his or her dio first..... quality before quantity.
Therefore I urge you to submit your dio after all...finished or not. Maybe you have some techniques that are important to others....it would be a waste if you didn't share them just because the dio isn't finished right now.
The submission of dio's that are not completed allows us to think over the concept of Campaigns again....Maybe we can draw the conclusion that we all love those Campaigns and that we really want to participate, but that we also have other things in life that are also important so maybe the 2 months per Campaign is a bit too short....
If we just decide not to submit unfinished dio's, I think it would be a waste of knowledge, experience and fun.
So again I urge you to submit the dio. The ribbon you're about to wear is not a ribbon that tells us you COMPLETED a dio, but it's a ribbon that tells us you participated in a dio with a special theme, so people can see they can possibly use you as a reference when they have questions about skills on themes that have been used in that particular Campaign.
I hope to see the submission of your unfinished dio !
