Just finished this little Hasegawa kit of a Crusader Mk III, 6th Armoured Division in Tunisia during 1943 which research has indicated was mostly wet and humid.

Built up quickly OOB and well with all the usual and minor issues with an older Hasegawa kit. Some sink marks and seams needing to be filled and location holes needed to be opened up. The Besa coaxial machinegun barrel and aerial mounts were drilled out as well

Painted with Vallejo acrylics and weathered with oil washes and MIG pigments. This was the second time I have used MIG pigments and have tried some of the techniques as demonstrated on the MIG Pigments DVD. The results, in my opinion turned out quite well.

Tracks were a nightmare but look good now the wrestling with installation is done!

Cheers

Very nice job on this one. A good result - especially considering the scale.

I am not sure it would be painted green in Tunesia, but I am no expert on British WWII armour, so you could be right.
You are right about the vegetation. Very nice base.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks

British armour in Tunisia was most assuredly painted standard light olive (Hu86 or in my case Vallejo Russian Uniform). The coastal areas of Tunisia are Mediterranean climate and from information I have researched the winter of 1942/43 was wet and humid.

I had wanted to do the Middlestone/Black desert finish but full sand guards were not provided in the kit.

Excellent work on an old kit. The construction is quite clean. I like the added details like the fuel line from the external fuel tank to the engine. The weathering is light but I like it.

Michael,

I do believe that this is by far your best 72nd armor build to date! As Brent mentions it sure looks the part. Your choice of weathering is dead on the money and the ground work is totally realistic.

Michael, I have not really had a chance to comment on your build since you first posted back in July, just been to busy and my wife has been taking over the computer lately now that she is getting more comfortable with it. I just get enough of a chance to do some viewing and then it's off to the workbench to do some modeling.

Congratulations on your bronze win and may you continue to put out some more inspirational work for all of us out here to view.

the color is fell good, and the Vegetation looks so comfortable.
one things is the tank antenna, looks too coarse, and contrived.
