Hey Gang,
I am working on my (rather large) GW2 diorama, and a major part of it is a large section of highway.
What I am looking for is advice on how to construct the roadbed, I have the basic groundwork done already. I was thinking about using foam-board, cut to shape and than covered in a thin layer of spackle(sp?).
But not sure...
Thanks for your time,
Chris

If your road is made of tarmack I suggest you take sandingpaper for the road surface and you could take sandingpaper with a really fine grain.
If it`s a sand road the you could do the foamboard with wallspackle method but then I suggest you sprinkle fine (birdcage) sand on the still wet spackle to get the structure of sand road to it
Just a guess

To make concrete, I used sanding paper and spackle :
use coarse sanding paper, and then smear a very thin layer of plaster on top. Make sure the plaster is thick and creamy, so you can rub it in with your finger.
An alternative would be to prepare some spackle, add sand to it and use that for texture, but I never tried that.

I'm with the others about using sanding paper, just be sure to use the one you can use "wet" otherwise you can experience cracks or bubbles once you go through the weathering phase...
