Hello all
Just finished this little monster from Revell. It's a re-issue of an old Matchbox kit and it's one I didn't build when I was younger so it's nice to finally get it done now.
It's my first 1/76 build since I got back into the hobby and I'm pleased with how it came out. Everything was painted by hand using Lifecolour, Vallejo and Mr Hobby paints, Javis scatter and Woodland Scenics foliage was also used. I was in two minds whether to add the foliage or not as the supplied dio scene is a street. I decided to go for it with the reasoning that the vehicle has just entered a town ( sounds good!!!! ).

Thanks for looking and please be nice.

You are not the only one in that situation mate.

If it is Matchbox I am going to automatically like it. One thing that does stand out are the slabs in the path either side of the road. To my eye they are a tad bright and could do with a wash of Burned Umber to tone them down a bit/

Apart from that and accepting your explanation of the foliage, it looks a job well done.

Cheers

as Michael says put a wash through the ground work, and maybe a bit around the puma itself and tone down the roadside grating a little its a bit bright, the road surface looks pretty good though, nice job i like it. i remember building this kit when it first came out under the matchbox name, so that must make me er,,,,, VERY VERY OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Mclen69
Apologies for being so late.
I don't seem to get 'Track' side of the site so much these days.

But I tend to agree with what has already been said.
The Puma and the figures are really nice and there is not much wrong with the scenery.
As it's a battle ground it looks a little two clean and bright; it just needs a little dirtying up (if that's a word). Dust, earth and cement/brick dust would get thrown up/churned up and I think a dirty wash will calm things down a treat. Even the road too.

Hope it helps considering I'm mainly a wingy thing.

Cheers
Peter

Hello,

12 years ago, when I had 11, I have executed the same model, but under Matchbox sign....
Nice work, I like old Matchbox kits with small diorama bases...
But where is rest of lantern?
I like your masking from plants

Try a wash also on the faces and hands of the figures , probably a raw umber oil. They look too bright. You can correct it even now. Also use some drybrush on their uniforms ( add a little bit of white in your basic colors ) and on the ground with multiple choices of colors ( anything that looks right for your eyes from browns to greys ).Use some pigments to mix everything. You have done a great job. Many - including myself - start many builds but some of them never arrive at the finish line.Keep up and most of all have fun.

...don't think there is anything much at all going wrong here to my eyes - well done ! Nice build..foliage is cool too. As a big fan of oil washes (burnt or raw umber) I'd agree with the other comments here...
