Robert
What's this shot trap armour, is this the collar that goes around the base of the turret opening? What is its purpose?

Correct Bill,
It's just additional armor to prevent rounds going underneath the turret and wreaking havoc on the relatively weak armor there. I used an old Tamiya turret and just cut out the sections I needed. You might say I'm a bit lazy when it comes to scratchbuilding.

Robert
Don't any of the many AM sets address this feature or is it something that is a glaring omission?
I look forward to seeing more of this. I would not say that you are a lazy scratch builder, you are resourceful and I'm certain that reflects in your trade as well.
Regards
Bill

Bill, to my knowledge, no one haa released this armor. Look for that to change soon. The same goes for the DVE. Mine is the only one I've seen that addresses this. Of course, you know my penchant for photographing details.
Calvin PM'ed me with a question I thought I'd answer here - the spare bolts came off of other unused parts in the kit. However, I do have quite a stockpile of Bradley hulls and parts, so I borrow from those as well.

Hey Skipp, what happened here? This is a great build and was really looking forward to a happy ending. Did you ever finish it? If so post some pics, the work you were doing looked great. Cheers.

I'll put it back on the "A" list, just as soon as the bike is done.

I'm adding this on 3 January 2013. I have a metric assload of extra Bradley parts in case anyone needs some for that shot trap armor.

Robert, you have done some nice work on the Bradley and I'm glad that all those pics are still up considering you started this while back.
Now, I'm hoping to build a OIF Bradley someday so what is this a metric assload parts?
Mike

Your post reminds me that I have to finish mine as well, although I did finish that bike. The problem is that I have two more builds going, and am contemplating getting a Triumph Thruxton to work my magic on as well. Actually, if I finish my Ural, that would be four bike projects all in my garage. Too many hobbies, too little time.
Mike - the parts I refer to are the sprues from about thirty kits, including interiors. The only thing I think I don't have are the tracks. If you ever need parts...
