Later versions of the SA-2 were painted in the light grey color, but what shade? The very pale grey of Tamiya AS-16 (USAF light grey) seems to fit the description, but I wanted to make sure. Thanks.

Since none of the resident experts replied, I will say that any light gray will probably do - I used light gull gray on mine with some preshading and postshading of med-dk gray to represent wear - I think this is one of those things where you could find a picture of a modern SA-2 to justify almost any paint scheme.

Thank you so much!

I did get the idea it would be a pretty light grey, based on the idea the missles would spend most of their lives up in the air, baking in the sun, when not in storage.

Tom,

Make up your own mind - lokks like both gull greys and darker tones used, but hard to say.

Thanks for the color pics! Quite a diversity of grey colors I see.
