I was browsing the online shops in my little bit of free time and was curious because I saw that two companies are offering the slat armor for the stryker
I know of the Eduard one as I have seen Milo's excellent diplays here. I saw the Griffon Model offer and I don't know if it's just good advertising and photography, but their's seemed a little more detailed. Also including the blast shields and exhaust deflector. I also thought that the blast shields seemed to have some scale thickness to them, but then again it could be the photography

Even though I don't build modern stuff and have no experience with the slat armor, I feel pretty comfortable in saying that Eduard is the more simpler of PE set companies out there. Griffon, who is more like Voyager in my eyes, is far more detailed, sometimes to the point of being almost impossible to remove, bend and install.

Hello,
Please tell me how much slats you finished. How much from Eduard, how much from Voyager and from Griffon.
I have three finished from Eduard and one in progress from Griffon.
I can say only one. I prefer Eduard for best material and instruction.
price Big ED set is 110 $
Griffon all sets for Stryker 115 $. No included Stryker stovage belts
Voyager cost 109 $. No include Stryker stovage belts and exhaust deflector.
I think that ca`not commended who no build all for comparison.
I think that Eduard for me is best than Voyager (very no transparent instruction) and than Griffon.(this is very nice but has some errors).
In possible choose according to price or first look because all sets (also Pro Art) is very nice.

My statement was a blanket statement referring to the quality and detail found in PE sets in general, ease of instructions notwithstanding. In my opinion, when comparing say Eduard PE for M2A1 to Voyager PE for M2A1, Eduards parts are very simplified, for me Voyager wins hands down.

I think you can always fix the small errors, but hard to fix scale thickness,i just finishrd mt stryker, and agree with milo on the instrutions, but the Eduard slat was kind of thin.I would like to see the Griffon set it does look pretty nice and lucky models has the Griffon for a great price.

Please you need what slat no M2A1. Many sets is best from Eduard , many from Griffon Many from Voyager.
I think that slat and M2A1 set no possible compare.
I use for Tiger I , Tiger II an for Panther only Voyager set because for me is best.

SSgt Cody,
It all depends on how much you're willing to spend? I prefer Eduard since I know that their SLAT is more accurate compared to everything else that's out there. Is it easier to build, I can't really tell you since that depends more on the user than anything else. I've built quite a few sets and still manage to screw parts up.

I wasn't comparing the two, I was comparing the general quality and depth of detail between the two companies products.
Eduards hinge = flat folded over rectangular lumps
Voyager hinge = actual interlocking leaves bent around wire to make a working hinge.
Again and for the last time, it was an observation based on my experience with both companies products and a simple generalization about the quality of the product made by each manufacturer.
IMO The only thing Eduard is "best" at being is inexpensive and simple to use.
