John, to be honest, it deoes look a little on the dark side (no star wars pun intended), but, if you hadent mentioned it I probably wouldnt have noticed
Your figs look great, along with your wall....I envy your figure painting skills

Hi all,
Here is some progress that I am in the middle of doing right now. Just got it taped up and it is already sprayed, just need pics, which I will get in a few minuts. I used sawdust for the ivy.
BTW- I also highlighted the walkway.
Jon- Thank you for your comments. You were right though. I am gald you like my painting. I have learned everything from Armorama.

John

Here is more progress pics-
After getting it airbrushed I took the tape off and fixed all the outer edges. I then darkend and highlighted the ivy.
After that I noticed the middle part looked a little square. So I had to fix that too.
more to come!

John

And more-
Next I added some leaves to the walkway to give it some depth.
I will give more in a couple hours.

I think it looks good. The main thing is that you started. Awesome amount of good advice. Looking forward to the next update.

Johnathon,
The ivy doesn't look to bad, but what I would do to give it more depth, is dab some slightly diluted Ehlmers on what you have. Use a brush to dab the glue on randomly, then sprinkle that with what ever you used to make the leaves on the sidewalk.
That would then have to be re-painted but that should give a more 3-D effect.
Keep it up,
BillK.

I agree with Bill. But I've never seen this method before and it looks very realistic.

Bill- Thank you for your advice! I will try what you said. I used basil for the leaves.
Lars- I saw the sawdust idea on another website. Thank you for your comments.

Martyn- Thank you for your comments!!
I added the basil leaves randomly to the ivy to give it more depth. I am thankful that
"anti-hero" gave me the advice.
Any other advice or commentes are more than welcome!!

Here are the figs on it too. Hopefully the last thing I got to do is get some veneer wood for the sides.
