Anybody know where I can get my hand on some Turkish AFV markings for 1/35 scale?

I'm not sure of exact replica's, but a piece of folded white paper may do. If you need further help, please ask for the builders of "french" military vehicles. LolLol...

I don't know which Turkish vehicle you wanted to build. In World War Two Germany sent Turkey some panzers to induce them into invading Iraq or Soviet Armenia, but I don't know what type. The Turks said thanks, Adolf, you sucker, took the tanks, and blew him off. I imagine Germany's armored division commanders, who badly needed those tanks, were pretty angry. Not that they would have dared complain to der Fuhrer. A panzer in Turkish markings would be interesting to build though, wouldn't it?
Anyway, a couple of years ago my sister bought me AFV Club's 1/35 YPR-765 AIFV w/ the 25mm turret for my birthday, and very pleased I was by this gift. It came with decals for vehicles in Belgian, Phillipines and Turkish markings. I built the Turkish one, an all-white YPR in UN service. It has a little Turkish flag decal in the back.
Also, if you look on eBay, Decalcomaniacs sells a 1/35 sheet called M-47s Around the World, with markings for a tank in Turkish service.
I don't know which vehicle you wanted to build. But I guess you could take the Turkish crescent and stars from either of these sheets and use them on another model, if you wanted. I think there is an Armorama Turkish language forum; maybe someone there can help you find pics of the vehicle you want to build in Turkish markings, so you'll know where the decals are supposed to go. Good luck! And let us know what you come up with. You don't see Turkish armor very often.

Hi Daniel,

Do you have any specific vehicles you want to build? I might be able to help with reference pics.

Unfortunately, we don't have any Turkish AFV decal sets over here, not even produced locally. Funnily enough most Turkish modelers are not interested in Turkish armor. The only kit that comes with Turkish decals is the stated AFV Club YPR-65 kit.

There's also another aspect. Turkish Military has institutional paranoia, so they like to cover registry plates and since late 80s they don't use visible turret numbers or such. Operational vehicles have such marks and numbers either erased or covered to hide troop movements. If you are building a rather modern Turkish vehicle, you would probably need licence plates.

Let us know which AFV you are building and I'll try to be of further help.
