Sadly I wasnt able to finnish this piece within the deadline.
However, heres two pics before painting. Next step is to prime it. And not all parts are glued to the base but merely stuck there with the assistance of blue-tac. Green-tac in thsi case.
I hope to have it ready the next weekend.

Hey Toke, this is a really nice piece. I like the layout and composition. Please post some pictures once it is done. Where are the figures from?

If this is your Plan B, I would love to see what Plan A was. Once painted, this thing is gonna be awesome.

Yor artistic talent is obvious, but you're lucky you don't have to contend with the "Political Correctness Police" which abound here in the States. Here your vignette would never see the light of day, much less a place on a contest table!

Well first of all, Thanks for all the positive and flattering comments!
Little did I know that this post should get so many responses.
The laddies and the lassie is indeed from Verlinden as many of you figured. If my memory still serves me right, they were all in one set but Ill guess its out of production these days.
Scale is 54mm. Some photoetched leaves from Verlinden and ScaleLink were used but the palmplant were scratched from aluminium foil, wooden rod, white glue, sawdust and cupper wire. The helmet, Colt and canteen comes from a Airfix Multipose set while the strap and belt were made from lead foil. The causeway were made of Super Sculptey rolled out to a rodlike shape with a ruler and notched with a scalpelblade before being baked. River bank is A & B putty.
I always tries hard to work out a good composition, as well as to minimize the base as much as possible. This to get a tight look, like someone just picked up a chunk of the real world. Whenever I can I try to block off the backside so it becomes a natural dead end for the viewer.
And Jan, if you send me a 10:- Euro bill in a letter whith your name and adress I will send her telephone number in return.
PLMP110, mentioned the secret plan A. And here it is, far from done:
More of a classic setting in a french town being liberated by US troops.
I also believe that the moral majority isnt such a big problem here as on the other side of the pond, but Ill guess we can call them lucky not having to deal with me. Sorry but I just cant stand that way of censorship.
Would it be politically correct if I removed the handgun?
Sometimes Im certain that models works just like ink dots like those Rorsharsh tests. People put in to them what they want to see. For better or for worse, mostly for worse.
Maybe its just them having a dirty imagenitation?
Thanks once again.

Once again, thanks for the nice remarks.
Plan A wad built using foamboard for the basic structure. Then covered with Plastruct embossed sheets. Light grey on the pictures. The rest is plastic card, rod, strip, putty, stretched sprue and cupper wire.
