Hi All,
I’ve been through my small Sherman library (10 books: Forty, Green, Zaloga, Osprey, Concord) and have found two photos and a few color plates. Googling has found a few references to US armor camouflage colors and their general application but not much else. Search functions on discussion boards hasn’t turned up much of anything either.
Anyway, my question is how inaccurate or ‘wrong’ would it be to model the M4A1 ‘Weenie One’ in Italy, 1944, in a three color scheme of OD, No.6 Earth Yellow, and No.8 Earth Red?
I found the photos in the Squadron ‘Sherman in Action’ book and their color plate shows OD and No.6 Earth Yellow. The photos indicate two colors at best through the coating of dust. I did find in Osprey’s compilation of Modeling Manuals 13 and 14, a color plate suggesting the three-color scheme for this vehicle. Of course DML’s directions suggest OD and No.6 Earth Yellow.
Your thoughts, opinions, personal references, and any suggestions for other references would be most appreciated. Thanks!

John
