Probably, if you are real good with putty to cover all the holes. Why don't you use the old Tamiya ACAV one?

Academy's Fitter is the only game in town....(apart from the old Verlinden conversion set)
There are some interesting pics showing Aussie "Fitter's tracks" in SVN here :

Hi James
Just scanned through a couple vietnam books, and it looks like only the austrailan army used the m113 fitter's vehicle in vietnam, the U.S .Army used the m578 based on the m107 chassis, hope this help's .
I hope somone do's find a photo of one in use,in vietnam with the U.S.Army as i would'nt mind doing one myself as i've done the other two

James-- my recommendation is to get the Tamiya kit. Pretty accurate kit to build.

The Academy is based on the Tamiya with much more detail and more variants and options.

If you want a Vietnam Fitters then an Australian one is the only option. The US never used the Fitters in service. The kit is deficient a lot of things that make up the fitters like the interior Crane mount and Reservoir, Control panel inside the Drivers hole to the rear of the instrument panel and Aussie Stowage. Ours did not use centre benches and the usual FMC supplied ones were removed and replaced by a new Wooden Hinged one over two long toolboxs or a custom made stowage bin with a padded lid used as a bench seat. The RAEME crews heavily customised the Fitters tracks in service and it is rare to find two the same.
