this is my first attempt at painting italian camo - to me it seems like something doesn't look quite right but i can't quite figure out exactly what it is-

Further to Russ' message, and website the answer is 'scale colour'. That is representing in 1/35 colours those that you see on the website Russ mentioned. The colours on your figure will be typically lighter than those in real life (e.g black boots in real life, may be only a dark grey colour in 1/35 scale). Hope this helps!
