Well..i was sure that it was ready yesterday, all the sides were very hard so i decided to take the reinforcements away..BAD MOVE!!

My worst fear came true, the whole inside of the pond wasn't fully dry and some of the water started to slowly escape, after some cursing and rushing around i managed to save things to the best of my abilities by quickly adding some plastic strips around the sides..

Today it appears the damage wasn't too bad after all so i added hopefully what will be the last layer of water.
This will be left to dry for at least the following two weeks and if this doesn't work, i'll be removing all of the items inside the pond area and try starting again.
Until then, fingers (and toes) will be crossed!!

Thanks for the comments so far, here is some parting shots after adding some extra flora and a miniature chain to the scene.
Now to move further on my vignette for my Indiana Jones figure while i bide some time .

Hello there Shay, I can't see any damage caused by removing the plastic sides to provide the water from leaking. It look pretty good and I like this all very much. One thing, but personal, I'd add some bright yellow flowers for a sunny look. G.

Why-oh-why you guys try and use some esoteric products to create water.. lemme guess, oh right, valejo do some bloody good paints, so they are supposed to do bloody good water resin too right? mistake my friend mistake! valejo is a commercial company, they would issue anything working only one time over 2 to do some money. Games Workshop also manufacture the same kind of water with the same dubious effects.
never rely on stuff that is supposed to be modeller proof whenever it comes to scale water making, when they work they usually cost more than regular artist stuff.
You could have use even worse: Nimix water, the worst sh*t i ever came through in 30 years of model making.
Actually, valejo water is good for.. uh, very thin water coats? and even there it doesn't work much because as you say it shrinks. No valejo water is best left in some corner and never touched nor bought.
Now if you want to see the best ever product to do water I have ever used:
this Gedeo chrystal. My Galilée sea
is done with it. It doesn't stink much, it doesn't shrink and you can clean your brushes with water (they say) and it doesn't keep any half life after setting like polyester resin which means you can let children near your diorama (not TOO close!). Only thing: it's expensive..
But then looking at your pics I rather think the job is really well done, if i haven't read your comments I wouldn't have suspected some trouble brewing only from the pics.. Good luck anyway!

I also see no problem with the borders, anyway, i don't nelieve that you can salvage anything from the water if it doesn't harden, so your fingers crossed are the best bet.

But i don't doubt that it is saved now, just cover it from the dust and fiorget it for two weeks.

JBA, well I have done a few tests now and then and it appears to be curing, but to be totally safe I will be leaving it to dry for some time still.
You are right about Vallejo, great paints but the water is crap..
This has been a big learning curve for myself and we all have to start somewhere eh!
Guy, funnily enough my idea was to add some yellow to the scene!

Evening,
I managed to take off the back and left hand side plastic walls without any problems; so just the front and right side next week.
Things are starting to turn around..phew !!
