Hi!
I just bought the Italeri M-925 Shelter Truck and IŽd like to build it as OIF truck. Does anybody have any suggestion to pain or even real pics to inspire me?
Thanks! Bye,
Marcelo

The truck and shelter could be either sand, NATO Camo, MERDC, or overall green. All were seen in the early days of OIF. You could mix and match them too, the truck one color and the shelter another.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I think the 925 was a little late for MERDOC (sorry Gino) but Nato Camo, all Nato Green or Sand. Also you could do some combos where the sheler is Nato Green only (that is the way it is ~70% of the time) and the truck is Nato Camo.
Rounds Complete!!

Now how many of them remained in that scheme as of OIF, who knows?
Yup, there were a few that were pulled out of some PrePo or depot somewhere. My Bn drew one. It looked pretty rough.

Yup, first one is an M35A2 w/single rear wheels though, not an M923 as the others are.

Nice looking "Commercial tires" on the M35A2. Are we running out of wheels and tires for our stuff as well?
Although it is probably quite unreasonable, I'd like to see us pull all of our "destroyed" equipment out of Iraq when we leave, especially the Abrams, and the Brads. Sure will be a lot of good "scrap metal" being left behind, not to mention stuff that "the other side" would like to examine if they got the chance. Like I said, unrealistic, but wishful thinking.
I see Patreus is leaving the theater. Wonder who is taking command?

No, it looks like a National Guard unit. Many ARNG units use commercial tires by choice. They are sometimes easier for them to get or the State has a contract w/the tire company.
Like Gary said, we are not leaveing any here, they are all being evaced to the states for repair or scrapping, usually repair though. Also, not many are being damaged beyond what can be repaired here in theater. Most destroyed vehicles are uparmored HMMWVs, and they are usually just damaged now.

GEN Ray Odierno (former 4 ID CDR) is replacing Patreus later this month.

Yes, Gino, you are right. I just add this pic as an example of Merdc painted vehicle.
