Hi, My name is Mark.. and I'm a Half Track Junkie...

Some of you might know my work... I have posted about my... the new DML M2 Half Tracks before. I just wanted to post the work I have completed so far. My addiction has also spilled over to the Tamiya Half Tracks as well.

For the complete photo shoot, go to my personal site, http://www.lopiccola.com/ArtWork/

I am waiting with great anticipation for the DML M16 Multiple Gun Carriage.

Enjoy,
Mark L. aka. Shadowfax

I'm with you Mark. I too am a halftrack junkie. Although we both are waiting with baited breath for the Trumpeter M16, I seriously doubt it will ever see the light of day. It was announced over a year ago, and other projects that Trumpeter announced afterword have since hit the shelves already. From what my sources tell me, the interest n 1/16 scale has fallen off, hence the "disappearance" of the M16. I think the project has been shelved. Guess I'm stuck with the resin parts to a 1/16th M3 that I will have to work into a M16. Either that, or make them into a M3 scout car.

Funny, it shows up as in stock at Squadron.

Addiction can be a good thing. Like you kits. I had a look at your web page, can I ask where the photo of the row of AMTRAC's was taken

Thank in advance

That row "hulks"? That was in Buffalo, New York. I think the city owns them, as they were in a city storage yard. I would have liked to hop the fence to get better pictures of them.

I don't know the history of those vehicles, but they are referred to as "Buffalo's" ... I wonder if there is a connection?

Your painting and weathering is nice, you're growing a nice collection there.

Looking at your M4A1 it appears like you used the initially released Archer transfer set, which was re-issued after addressing many of the sets inaccuracies. Refunds or replacement sets were/are offered to those who bought the first set.

Also 3-15 had the late style removable headlights and a winch front end.

Thanks for the comments.

Yah, you caught me Lamnot! I didn't use all the decals either. Some of them broke, and others didn't want to stay down, so I just rolled with it.

You have to imagine it was the first Lord Eppie, not the one in the photos. I am not a big stickler on historical accuracy in my modeling anymore. If it looks good, it's done.

You can do all the research in the world, and still not get it correct... Example, the Archer set for Lord Eppie. How embarrassing it that!?

Well, the D-Day shipping stencils on the side stowage doors make that a little difficult. They pretty much nail down the basic time frame of the vehicle, just like those photos taken in England, just prior to D-Day do.

Point taken and I will keep that in mind for he next time.

I can't help but wonder why you would pay extra money for an aftermarket set that represents a specific, well documented 2nd AD vehicle when the kit decals have another, less documented 2nd AD vehicle right there in the box.

As long as you're having fun, I guess that's all that matters...

This is news to me. Last I heard, it had been put on the back burner. Must contact my source to get me one of those bad boys.

Also realize I never go to Squardron's site. I rarely build plastic anymore, and don't get much time to peruse these types of modeling sites very much. In farmer's speak: "I'm sucking the hind teat" when it comes to what's the latest kit out there.

I just got an email from our model club prezidente', that our local hobby shop is taking preorders for this large scale kit. It must be the "real deal".
