Hi,
I just scored Arsenal's BRDM-1 on eBay, and I'm looking for some interesting camo or markings for it. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places, but I have yet to find anything. Does anyone have any ideas?
Also, does anyone know where I might be able to find a machine gun for this vehicle? I guess it's supposed to have an SGM but I'll be damned if I can find one in 1/35 scale. Even Colorado Miniatures doesn't have one.

Tank Models makes the SMG as fitted to this AFV. It is available through Model Point hobbies.

Umm, the BRDM-1 was as often as not unarmed - or at least, the only weapons were in the hands of the troops aboard it. So while it might be appropriate to mount a DShK on it, it's equally valid to build it without.

I honestly cannot think of a particularly interesting scheme for a BRDM-1. They're almost invariably green - whether it's Soviet green, Czech green, Polish khaki. I assume that if any were used in Czechoslovakia in 1956, they carried the white cross stripes, which'd at least make it a bit more interesting. Presumably they were painted sand colors in a desert environment. I know Ynot do a couple of sheets with BRDM-1s on them (all green, sorry), I assume some of Armo's sheets also include them.

I'm sure there must be *some* interesting schemes, but I suspect the BRDM-1 didn't circulate as widely amongst Soviet client nations as the BRDM-2 since it was more of a scout car than an armored one, and thus didn't appear in as wide a selection of schemes.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the help. I have that YnoT decal sheet. It has markings for a Polish BRDM. I may or may not use them.
