Something different to drag you away from all those Tigers, Panthers and Shermans - an intriguing proposal from Masterbox Ltd. to consider applying your modeling talents to a less mechanized age. Masterbox have announced, through this Network, their first non-WWII set in the form of MB3549 - U.S. Civil War Scouts. The photo-report can be seen:

Interesting stuff, I think the pale face looks excellent .
Make a nice change if they come at the right price.

Oh my!MB have bought out some excellent kits over the last year or so and the fact they aren't limiting themselves to plain military subjects is phenomenal!!
With this particular set, i'd be happy enough with the Native American.
I personally can't wait to see what future releases they have in store!

Jim,
am I correct in reading that these are 1:35 scale ? Or are they 1:32nd?
I've got to hand it to MB, good choice of subject and era.
Can't wait for them to put out a stage coach, supply wagon and Gatling gun (hint)

Excellent news!! These two guys can make a nice vignette. I'll definitely be buying them when they are released.
I hope MB continues with this type of thing

Nice figures, read the book 'Blood and Thunder" it will give you the right time period for these.

That was, indeed, an excellent biography of Kit Carson. The cavalryman could also pass for go up to 1876. In fact, I just looked at my Osprey US Cavalry on the Plains, 1850-1890 and he is very close to the cover figure, though the acouterments are earlier than the cover. :

The scouts face details are awesome. Really well done ... and im another who would have no problems with a set like this for a change of pace.

Charles, yep, 1/35th
Knowing them as I do, I rather think these will be on a drawing board somewhere!

Does anyone have any release dates for any of MB's new kits (Brit para's, Scottish infanty, this new kit)? They have a range of kits I'm eager to buy but I've no idea how long I'll be waiting.
Well done to masterbox though. I hope this new range of figures does as well as it deserves too.

Good on MB for having the gumption to produce these.
Are they my favorite subject matter? Not even close.
Will I buy them? You betcha!

The two British Para's kits are available at hobbyterra, but I don't know about in the States though

They offer good service and reasonable shipping rates.
