I've been liasing with Charlie Young over the submission of a proposal to Masterbox Ltd. for a proposed Australian infantry set in 1/35th scale. As i'm the site's contact with the company and i've met them all personally, sometimes these kind of things go better on a more 'personal' basis.
However, the reality is, that apart from mailing the company with Charlie's proposal, i've done very little. What Charlie has done is to put forward a VERY professional package for the company and has supported it with a good number of names from this and other sites.
So, if the set DOES see the light of day, Charlie should get the credit for it. His package includes photos, written documentation and a good argument for the finacial viability of the proposal. This is precisely what any manufacturer requires - simply saying 'We Want Figure X' is NEVER going to impress, presentations like Charlie are precisely what the manufacturers require and need.
So, Kudos to Charlie and to all the others who have supported his campaign both morally and practically with images and data.
Let's ALL keep our fingers crossed!

Job well done and deserved! Maybe MB could name it the Chas Young Brigade Series of figures if it's a huge success.

Hi Jim,
I just stumbled across this thread, thankyou so much I am flattered!
I have to disagree with you though, of course you did a lot! Your tips, advice and support I value. Thanks for sending the proposal off in quick, efficient time too.
As I said on pF, working on this proposal has been a fun experience, and I have learnt a lot about the Aussie infantry along the way (which has in turn increased my level of respect for these brave men).
Thankyou to all who have contributed, and let's all glue our fingers crossed!

And toes for that matter Chas!!
Excellent work guys, it's good to see that MasterBox care and listen to their customers needs.
I remember a while ago, a lot of us (me included) used to and moan with every Axis release, we even had some Allied "wish lists" up one time if i remember rightly.
In hindsight, we shoud've taken the noble approach displayed by a young digger from Western Australia.
Cheers,
Shay

Good luck and well done to both of you!
I was too late to add my name to the list but this venture has my whole hearted support, and it there is no reason why it shouldn't be successful; look at how many British Airborne figures or Allied vehicles are now available compared to just a couple of years ago.
As others have said this is an excellent subject which until now has been sadly overlooked by manufacturers.

Hallelujah brothers !!! Finally somebody has realised that there is another hemisphere apart from the one on the northern half of the globe, where 99.99% of kits are based.

Thanks anyone, I feel very flattered, but I'm sure I'm getting more praise than I actually deserve!
Remember, it's not too late to add your name to the list or contribute references or knowledge. Keep up the interest to let MB know we really want the set! So lets devote all our attention to the proposal, reflections later!
