hello all
got around to painting the tracks for my sherman firefly. here are a couple of pic's of them... I basecoated them in metalic grey.. then drybrushed with steel... and i'm planning on having this tank on a dirt road somewhere in normandy so I am weathing the lower hull of the tank with brown dust so I oversprayed the tracks with a light thinned coating of earth brown..
what do you all think.. and should I go with another drybrush of steel and / or metellic grey?...
any input would be welcome.....also after the tracks are put on the tank I will be adding chalk pastels for more weathering... in earth brown tones.

I like what you have done. I think I will try your same colours on my current project. Thanks for sharing.

Delbert,
I think I would hit them with some more steel drybrushing. Take a trip to a contruction site and check out the tracks on a bulldozer. Those things really shine, even if they have only been driving in dirt. Not a lot more steel, maybe just a touch. I am getting ready to tackle the tracks on the DML Hummel and I hope my build turns out as well as yours did.
Just a thought,
Shaun
