What is the best technique for making streets more specificly one in downtown baghdad or somewhere populated in iraq. The cheaper and easier the better. Thanks in advance.

I use wall repair spakling compound. You can get it already mixed at any hardware store, builders' supply, Wal-Mart, etc. I spread in onto a base that I have roughed up and drilled holes into to help it stick. Spread it with a putty knife to get it pretty smooth. Let it dry a while, then take some water on your fingers and rub it smooth to remove tool marks. After it is fully dry, sand with some fine grit sandpaper to smooth it further. Next, paint it with dark gray or black spray paint. Paint any lane divider lines or turn arrows, etc., then weather the whole thing with washes, pastel chalk, and sand oversprays until you have the look you are after. You can also make curbs and sidewalls the same way.

Here are a few examples of how it can come out.

This one was left a little rougher to represent a less used, rougher desert airstrip. I also left bare spots to show areas that have cracked away and where dirt is showing through.
