Hello,
after I have seen some T-80 projects in this forum, I think to build one, too.
But I am a bit confused.
The Reasons:
-What are the differences between a T-80BV and a T-80u 1985? In this context, can I use Sp-Designs T-80u 1985 for a T-80BV. (Only the outer notes)
- Steven Zaloga speaks in his book "T-64 and T-80" from a T-80BV. Could it be that it is a T-80U 1985? In his book about the T-72 he spoke of a T-72M2, but today it is called T-72B. (I think, the books are from 80s or from the beginning of 90s). Maybe the names has been changed?
- If I want to build a T-80u, that was used at soviet times, like in the 4th Guards Kantemirovets, can I use the SP-Designs kit T-80U m93/94?(zagola, T-64 and T-80)
-Did the soviets stationed T-80U or UD in east germany? I saw only photos of
In genral, my goal is the same like on my T72B, a soviet tank. My source is S.Zagola T-64 and T-80. Are there other good sources for Soviet T-80??
Maybe of T-80Ud and so on.
Thanks for your help,
best regards,
Moritz

I have reworked my T-80 Builders page here:
T-80 Overview
It has not been refined yet, but it should give you the information you want.

Hello,
thank you for your information!
When I read correctly, there are two differences between a T-80U (soviet time) and the version m93/94, so that I can risk it to make the 93/34 to Soviet T-80U.
The possibilities for a T-80BV sounds not so good! I have built the Dragon kit several years ago and ...mhh. Maybe I will make a further start.
Best regards
Moritz

I would wait on the T-80B. Sergej will be doing a conversion sometime, just not sure when, probably in a year or two. Sorry I cannot be more specific.
