The tracks look better but I still can't tell you why, and how do you like all those rivets

Looking at the bottom image (test model) and pics of the actual vehicle, you wonder, with all the recoil of that thing, the rivets didn't create a cloud of shrapnel every time the bugger fired...

There's Soviet newsreel footage showing this baby firing level down the block in Berlin in April '45. Will make for an awesome diorama subject with the right ruins....

Jim, I think the tractor rumor may just be that - a rumor. However I will be checkng with Trumpeter about that. As MiniArt are almost certainly NOT doing their YA-12, and having done some checking the Voroshilovets Tractor would be the most appropriate prime-mover...
Release Date? Well, these are photos of the model which is going to be on display at next month's Tokyo trade show, so it WON'T be long to wait now (hopefully)

While you are "checking" Jim, can you find out what is up with the BMP-3 and T-62 kits? We are really dying for those T-62's, assuming they are accurate...

Why did Miniart decide not to do the YA-12? I was looking forward to it!

Its a pity about the tractor being a rumor....however Im sure that combined with Dragons soviet figs they released in April this kit will look INCREDIBLE as a Berlin streets vignette

Well, this is another promising one from the folks at Trumpeter. The subject matter, while not my usual cup 'o tea, certainly grabs my interest.
BTW Jim, I second Jacques' request to find out what happened to the (oft-promised but not-yet-delivered) T-62 kits. Weren't they announced at last year's Tokyo show?

I just finished reading A.Beevors book on the battle for Berlin (if you havent read it....CHECK IT OUT).....and one of the very last holdouts was a gigantic concrete flack tower full of civilians and wounded soldiers. Apparently the Russians had several 203mm guns leveled at this thing and shells were just making a dent in it and thats all....very cool idea for a dio
